Ambassador Gabrielyan addresses the Land and Culture UK's fundraising function
28 February, 2009. Land and Culture UK held a fundraising function at the Armenian House, to inform the public of its completed and ongoing projects and to raise the necessary funds for new ones.
Founded by Keram Kevonian in 1977 in France, the Land and Culture Organization (LCO), aims at the preservation of Armenian monuments and carries out its mission through the voluntary work of enthusiasts from several European countries, Canada and the United States. Projects, carried out in "summer campaigns", cover both Armenia and sites outside the borders of today's Republic.

Keram Kevonian, pictured above, travelled from France to give a detailed presentation of the organizations past and current projects and to explain what was planned next. A representative from Shushi, where the organization has an ongoing project and the head of Armenia's office of Land and Culture have also arrived for the evening. David Satyan, a young pianist and composer from Yerevan, entertained the audience by performing some of his own pieces.

Ambassador Vahe Gabrielyan closed the evening by praising the Land and Culture Organization for the important work they are doing by preserving Armenian cultural heritage both in Armenia and elsewhere. He also emphasised the importance of the bonds that are established between local inhabitants and Armenian volunteers arriving from various countries.
The Ambassador stressed that the Armenian Government supports these initiatives and stands ready to help the volunteers with all available means.
