Military Service
1983 - 1987 Motorized rifle platoon Commander, Soviet Armed Forces, Germany

1987 - 1988 Motorized rifle company Commander, Soviet Armed Forces, Germany

1988 - 1989 Transferred under the subordination of the Trans-Caucasian military district commander and appointed motorized rifle company commander of the 366th motorized rifle regiment in Stepanakert

1989 - 1990 Motorized rifle battalion Deputy Commander of the 366th motorized rifle regiment

1990 - 1992 Motorized rifle battalion Commander of the 366th motorized rifle regiment

1992 After the withdrawal of 366th motorized rifle regiment from Stepanakert continued his military service in the Defence Army of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh

Participated in the military activities at all fronts. In 1992 was heavily wounded in the outskirts of Chldran village of Martakert region.

1992 - 1994 Chief of Staff of self-defence forces of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh

1994 - 1998 First Deputy Commander of the Defence Army of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh

1998 - 1999 Commander of 5th Army Corps of the Republic of Armenia by the decree of the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia

1999 - 2000 Minister of Defence of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh

2000-2007 Minister of Defence - Commander of the Defense Army of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh

In 1995 promoted to the rank of Major General

In 2000 promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General

In 2007 promoted to the rank of Colonel General

Awards

Awarded with the medals and decorations of USSR, the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh:

- USSR medals: "70th Anniversary of USSR Armed Forces", "For Perfect Service", "For Excellency";
- Republic of Nagorno Karabakh: "Hero of Artsakh", "Golden Eagle", "Combat Cross" 1st degree, "For the liberation of Shushi";
- Republic of Armenia: "Combat Cross" 1st degree, "Tigranes the Great", "For the Service to the Motherland",
- Ministerial medals: "For Perfect Service" 1st and 2nd Degrees, "Drastamat Kanayan", "Marshal Baghramyan", "For the strengthening of cooperation", "Maternal Gratitude", "Soviet Union Marshal Zhukov", "Coat of Arms".
