Hucknall.27.03.2009 The Ambassador of Armenia to the UK H.E. Dr. Vahe Gabrielyan and the UK Ambassador to Armenia H.E. Mr. Charles Lonsdale paid a joint visit to the Holgate School in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. The visit was aimed at reviving the links between the Lord Byron School in Gyumri, which was built by the British funding following the devastating earthquake of 1988, and the Holgate School.

Possibilities of renewed cooperation between the two schools were discussed with the Headteacher, Mr. Phil Crompton, with the School Council and with the representatives of the Board of Governors. During the meetings, the Ambassadors were offered several interesting proposals from the students on how to interact with their fellow students in Armenia. Both Ambassadors also addressed the School Assembly, where a concert was performed by the students in their honour.
