Armenia Fund's Annual Charity Concert
October 31, 2009. Hayastan All-Armenian Fund of Great Britain, in association with the Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in London, held its annual charity concert to celebrate Armenia's Independence and to raise funds for their new projects in Armenia. Musicians are as a rule being invited from Armenia, to promote their talent by introducing them to the London community. For "The Young Talented Artists of Armenia" however, this was not the first such concert. They had already performed - albeit not exactly in the same composition of the group- in the same prestigious venue of St. John's, Smith Square, London a few years ago as well. Such was the response then, that the Armenia Fund of Great Britain decided to invite them again and the hall was again full.
Vocalists Gurgen Baveyan 23, Hasmik Torosyan 23, Bogos Yegyazar 29, Tatevik Ashuryan 24, and Mesrop Martirosyan 14, as well duduk and shvi Andranik Verdyan 14 and kanon player Narek Kazazyan 13, performed loved and dufficult pieces to the cheers and enthusiastic applause of the audience.
The concert was opened by Mr. Hratch Tokatlian of the Armenia Fund of Great Britain who explained the work the Fund was doing in the Republics of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh.
HE. Dr. Vahe Gabrielyan, the Armenian Ambassador to the Court of St. James's delivered opening remarks, calling on the audience to further support the Armenia Fund's valuable projects.
